If you are thinking about registering your boat or yacht offshore, please see below
Why one may need it
If you like sailing a boat or a yacht you have probably noticed that traditional flags on tops of yacht masts are being substituted with flags of various exotic countries. There is a very simple reason for that. Registering a yacht in an offshore jurisdiction like BVI, Seychelles, Panama, Cyprus, Gibraltar, allows saving legally on registration costs and related taxes, VAT first of all. Moreover the savings can be significant indeed justifying all additional efforts to have a boat registered offshore.
Some flags may offer additional benefits for the yacht and the owner. BVI Red Ensign is recognized worldwide and the ships that fly the Red Ensign are entitled to the support of the British Consular and High Commission and Royal Naval protection. Nautical flags of Seychelles, Panama, Cyprus, and Gibraltar have their own advantages as well. While a US registration of a boat may cause unnecessary attention in some unfriendly waters, a harmless offshore jurisdiction flag may ensure much safer journey.
Yacht ownership structure
If you prefer to own your yacht confidentially we can register an offshore company (a BVI IBC makes a very reasonable choice) and transfer the yacht to it. You will be the company owner and the company will own the yacht thus limiting your personal liabilities. Such a solution would allow using the yacht privately, without official records of your personal ownership, and protecting your asset.
We will provide the whole set of the services starting from the offshore registration of a company (if privacy protection is required), a yacht registration, obtaining the flag and the radio license including further support and renewal of the boat registration and all licenses.
